The Order of Operations

1.  All grouping symbols from the inside-out
2.  Exponents and roots
3.  Multiplication/division from left to right
4.  Addition/subtraction from left to right

Solving Quadratic Equations: The 5 Steps

1. Put the quadratic equation in standard form
2. Factor
3. Use the zero-product theorem
4. Solve the two linear equations
5. Check the quadratic equation by placing the solution back into the ORIGINAL equation

Factoring General Trinomials: The Box Method












Just to let you know, this method of factoring is an alternative to the Bottom's-up Method.  General trinomials can be factored several different ways, so I recommend you find a method you like and stick with only that method.  If you have any questions or concerns, please leave them below in the comment section.
